Who is the director of Arden Wood?
Originally founded as the Christian Science Benevolent Association on the Pacific Coast, Arden Wood has evolved to meet the needs of today’s Christian Scientists. The organization provides skilled Christian Science nursing, residential living and opportunities for study and spiritual regeneration.
We are a non-profit charity. Our overarching goals are to remain a steady beacon of light, a haven for healing and ageless living, and a home for Christian Science nurses where they can grow their ministry through training, mentoring and practical application.
Arden Wood supports the activity of Christian Science nurses through stipends for private duty nursing, workshops for aspiring Christian Science nurses and seminars to churches on the subject. We adhere to the standards of practice as set forth in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Twelveacres is a home environment for developmentally challenged adult Christian Science residents who wish to fully rely on Christ and prayer for their healing and daily care. They live in one of three homes where they are housed together with fellow ambulatory and non-ambulatory Christian Science residents with similar abilities and social compatibility. They have access to a full range of facility-based and visiting Christian Science nursing services as well as free phone consultation.
